The Florida Department of Education is rewriting the Florida Principal Leadership Standards. What are they putting into the new revision? Teachers now are required to teach “social justice” in the classroom. Let’s be clear, “social justice” is not the same thing as justice defined under the Constitution that is equal justice under the law. Social justice is a socialist euphemism for distribution of wealth. Essentially, social justice argues that the “rich” have obtained wealth by exploiting the masses, and government needs to redress that exploitation.
Equality is subjective and is also a tool for manipulating emotions. If I tell you enough times that the individual that owns a large home on the ocean has exploited all those who do not have the resources to be in the same position, you have been made “less equal.”
Anyone that has studied for a midterm knows that not all students put in the same effort. The results are almost always a proportional ratio of time invested/success on exam. Social justice in the classroom, officially, is but another chip at the moral fiber of our society. It will promote mediocrity and further the demise of this great nation that was built on self-reliance, accountability, and integrity.
Here is a direct quote from the school document. Note the codewords to “diversity”, “multiculturalism” and “social justice” and you will understand how the Left is trying to subvert our American Heritage:
The effective leader recognizes and values differences among staff and students and creates a school environment that maintains high expectations for every student and that capitalizes upon diversity to improve student learning. The effective leader:
- Advocates for equality and social justice
- Empowers all students to succeed by promoting and maintaining a multicultural school environment that is nurturing, validating and inclusive”

As a citizen and taxpayer you have a voice and can express your concern on this issue directly to the Florida Department of Education.
Google the words “Social Justice” and read the articles and debates occurring regarding this hot topic.
Here is the link to the web page where you can find links to comment regarding the Revisions to the educational materials.
Contact the Governor & Commission of Education and and let them know you are opposed to teaching “Social Justice” just because it is the “politically correct” thing to do. Teach reading, writing, math, history, science, the arts and teach each child to be a good citizen in the classroom and the community. That’s it – that’s all.
